About Art on 9th

Art on 9th isn’t your typical gallery.

We pop up in great spaces, fill the walls with original art by talented Western Canadian artists and invite people to come in and explore. No pressure. No gallery-speak. Take your time, ask questions—or simply wander around and see what catches your eye.

The concept of Art on 9th began 10 years ago with Michele Holland, a Calgary artist who had an idea for a different kind of gallery—one that would bring a diversity of artists and artwork together in thoughtful, interesting ways while making the world of art feel a bit more approachable.

Together, Michele and her husband Jimm have taken Art on 9th from its original home on 9th Avenue to it's current pop up format with a regular openings at new spaces, with new mixes of work and plenty to discover.

Along the way, Art on 9th has built a large and loyal following of people who appreciate our approach—people who love discovering original art and experiencing it in a more relaxed and accessible way.
