Lortie is a Quebec-born, Calgary artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, installation, and community art. Trained in industrial design and business administration in Montréal, she later studied fine arts at the Alberta University of the Arts.

Lortie has exhibited across Western Canada through selected solo and group shows. Her work takes the form of immersive, contemplative environments that explore our physical, emotional, and ancestral relationships with the natural world. Notable solo exhibitions include Liquid Abstract (2025), The Keepers (touring 2021–2024) and Fluid State (2022)

In 2010, she represented Alberta at the Vancouver Olympics Cultural Olympiad with Oser Rêver/Dare to Dream.

Lortie led numerous collaborative art projects, working with schools, Indigenous Elders, francophone communities, and arts organizations. Projects such as Tall Feathers (with Elders of the Piikani Nation) and Territories of Dreams (in partnership with Dialogues Riopelle) reflect her interest in strengthening community through artistic practice.

She is co-founder DEVENIR in 2016, the only collective of francophone visual artists in Alberta, responsible for traveling exhibitions, public programming, and collaborative artworks across the province.

Her work was presented in Présence des Femmes (2021), an exhibition highlighting influential francophone women artists of wester provinces. She participated in artist residency at the Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre (2020-2021) and at the International Symposium of Contemporary Art of Baie-Saint-Paul (2022).

Lortie has received the Prix Envol (RAFA, 2017) and the Linda Knight Prize (2018, for contributions to the Elbow Valley community through the arts).
