Artist Statement:

For many artists, ideas come first; for me, painting begins with the experience of seeing.

Much like music is built from the relationships between notes, painting follows a similar harmony. In nature, light and color are one and the same, and the world reveals itself through shifting arrangements of these color notes.

The painter Henry Hensche referred to this as the “visual poetry of nature.” That phrase captures exactly what I seek: a simple, beautiful language expressed through a visual medium.

I do not think of myself as an artist, but rather as a student of nature. I strive to study as objectively as I can through paint, aiming to share a small part of the beauty I find there.
