My work is inspired by the beauty, movement, and fleeting nature of the natural world. I am particularly drawn to flowers—their extraordinary forms, subtle shifts of colour, and the way light can transform a simple bloom into something almost luminous.

Working primarily in oils, I build my paintings through layers of enhanced natural colour, allowing areas of softness and abstraction to exist alongside more defined passages. Rather than documenting every detail, I want to capture the feeling of the subject: the fullness of a peony, the gesture of a petal, the play of light across a flower, or the quiet atmosphere found in nature.

Scale is an important part of my work. By enlarging flowers beyond their familiar proportions, I invite the viewer to experience them differently—to notice their complexity, strength, and presence. What may normally be a small and temporary part of the landscape becomes immersive and commanding.

Ultimately, my paintings are about beauty and connection. I want them to bring some of the experience of being surrounded by nature indoors—a sense of life, colour, calm, and wonder that can become part of the spaces in which we live.
